Classmate Update: Mandy Ormond

This is going to be just a little blub—I never know what to say on these things. After high school, I headed off to college at BYU and graduated in Microbiology. I then served a mission for the LDS church in Taipei, Taiwan. I lived there for just under 1 ½ years. I had a wonderful experience there, and learned Mandarin Chinese in the process. I came back from Taiwan and headed straight for Texas to earn my masters degree at Baylor College of Medicine, where I studied to become a Physician Assistant. No offence to any Texans, but Texas was absolutely the last place I wanted to move. For some reason I had a really bad opinion of Texas; it was one of my top 3 worst states. I have since graduated from PA school and have lived in Texas for 4 years. I am happy to say that I quite enjoy Texas and have since taken it off my list of worst states. I am currently working at M. D. Anderson as a Physician Assistant in Surgical Oncology Endocrinology. I LOVE my job! I love working with people and feeling like I make a difference in their lives.

So there you have it - my life for the last 10 years. I hope everyone is doing great, and is planning on coming to the reunion if possible.

  1. I'm glad you took Texas off your list of the 3 worst states since you have lived there for 4 years! What other states are on your list?
